COMPREHENSIVE DBT

Our DBT programs for adolescents and adults are designed to give participants the tools to effectively enact change so that they can begin to pursue a life worth living. Through our approach designed to provide both acceptance and tangible interventions to promote change, we can help you increase your self-awareness, regulate your emotional response, control your impulsive behavior, and effectively manage your relationships.

Central Coast DBT Balance and Change
WHAT THE PROGRAM INCLUDES

Group Skills Training – Clients are taught the DBT skills of mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Ninety minute Skills Training Groups occur once per week for 24 weeks. The adolescent program follows the Rathus and Miller multifamily model so it includes an additional module specifically for families.

Individual Therapy – Skills and strategies of DBT are individualized to the client and applied to help them achieve their specific treatment goals. Individual sessions generally occur once per week for 50 minutes.

Phone Coaching – Individual therapists provide between-session coaching for crisis situations. Generally two coaching sessions per week are provided.

Consultation Team – DBT therapists also participate in a therapist consultation team once per week that is focused on helping them to provide the most effective treatment possible.

Case Management – Consultation with other providers and family members, attendance at school IEP and planning meetings, communication with insurance providers, etc.
